ACE Governor Conference 10 November 2017

1st November 2017

Members, Directors and Governors gathered at the Atlantic Centre in Newquay for a full session of ACE specific Governor training.  The day began with a welcome from the Chair of Directors, Phil Mason before the Executive Principal, Jennie Walker gave an indication of what OFSTED expects from a Governor.  The Governors were then broken down into mixed groups to work through 4 workshops which covered the role of a Safeguarding Governor, Governor role in Headteacher performance management, how to make best use of use of a Headteacher report and guidance on Governor monitoring. The Governors enjoyed the specific investment in them, expanding on their roles and the important impact they have on the Governance and running of a school. It gave them a rare opportunity to network and exchange ideas and best practice with Governors from across ACE Trust.
